TBSYO Junior Strings The Junior Strings are a group of string students ages 8-12 from Thunder Bay, Ontario. They play wonderful classical favourites, from Corelli to Haydn, but are known for their pops performances of great tunes like Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean, the YMCA, and All About That Bass. They chose Jully Black’s “Running” for this entry because of the song is a call to arms for kids who care about equality. Also, they are big fans of the song’s cool pizzicato bits which they reproduce exuberantly in this all-instrumental cover version! Led by violinist Michelle Zapf-Belanger, the Junior Strings are run under the umbrella of the Thunder Bay Symphony Youth Orchestra.
