The River East Collegiate Percussion Ensemble is comprised of nine 14-17 year old musicians in grades 9-12 at River East Collegiate in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The ensemble performs a wide variety of repertoire encompassing many styles and eras of percussion history. They have performed at numerous local, national, and international events and have received many awards and accolades for their performances. The ensemble has also commissioned and performed new works and new arrangements of existing works for percussion ensemble from within the local percussion community. The members of the ensemble maintain busy lives in addition to their percussion studies, with many excelling musically, academically, athletically, and artistically. Present members and previous alumni have begun and established careers as professional musicians, composers, arrangers, and educators in a variety of musical genres. Most importantly, the group is bound by the love of music and the joy it brings by sharing it with others.
